My youngest sister is back from London for a 2-month vacation here. Picked her up 2 days ago in the damn rain. No big changes from the last time I saw her (2 years ago) aside from... well, now I can sort of say that I'm the smallest of the three of us sisters. gaaah. I missed her. And she's going back on the night of August 22. 0_o; geh. It's because she has to be back in London by the 24th for the release of some exam results. gah. oh well...
The Wacom tablet isn't here yet (mama's fellow nurse will bring that this July), but I have two new books to read

Two books about Geisha from a western woman's point of view. I haven't read Lesley Downer's book yet, but am in the middle of Liza Dalby's. Dalby actually became a geisha for a year (1974-75) for her anthropological study of the Geisha 31 years ago in Pontocho, one of the Geisha districts in Kyoto. Fascinating read.

The two books now complement this book that I bought off ebay for just 300 pesos ^_^. The Kimono books was a product of Dalby's Geisha book, since there's an entire chapter about kimono in Geisha.
Wonder if I'll still buy Geisha: A Life by Mineko Iwasaki. But i'm definitely buying this one. A picture book. Because you can't appreciate Geisha without appreciating their amazing look and kimonos...
