I'm always paranoid, but I hope its just the usual case of my overactive mind spouting inane reasons.

Trailer for Ghost in the Shell 2.0

(When I heard the sound of the bells and the voice of the chanters, I squeeed. Really. I love my geekery over this franchise :3)

No, not Innocence, but a re-release of the original GITS movie, with new visual effects (I think they'll be incorporating 3D shots there now), a new dub and a re-recorded soundtrack.

I might be sleepy, but I'm seriously excited. Ghost in the Shell was the movie that launched me into the serious appreciation of anime and manga I have now. I've read comments on why bother/tinker with it now, if it ain't broke don't fix it, etc, etc.

Me? I'll be counting the days when this comes out in torrent form somewhere until July 13 (ooh, a day after the premiere of the first Blade of the Immortal anime episode) ^^

Right. Sleep.

I want to sing the line And everytime I see your face/the oceans heave up to my heart to someone.

And I just realized that it was Friday the 13th after lunch at work. At which I just shrugged and went back to trying to write a press release.

*sighs*

I'M THIRTY MINUTES TOO LATE, BUT I'VE ALREADY TEXTED HER EARLIER, BUT STILL...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY [livejournal.com profile] lethologica! ^^

Lacking in substance, I am.

Awesome meme from [livejournal.com profile] dreamlessness

If you were soundtracking my to make a soundtrack for my life, what kind of musical accompaniment would you suggest?

To request a soundtrack: comment below with your name, under the appropriate heading, and then link to your comment in your LJ so that your friends can come and suggest things. (Please PUT YOUR LJ NAME AS THE SUBJECT OF YOUR COMMENT, for ease of browsing the meme.)

Feel free to be as structured as you please: suggest the credits song, the Epic Love Story song, or the song for that uplifting moment at the film's emotional climax. Or just throw in anything that you think suits that person's life.

Because I know more than half of the f-list have awesome tastes in music~ ♥

And in a spirited (?) bout of randomness, I stayed over at [livejournal.com profile] lethologica's pad after work instead of going straight home. And I loved it :3

... I've found that saying the Litany against fear comes in handy.

I must not fear.
Fear is the mind killer
Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration
I will face my fear
I will permit it to pass over me and through me
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing
Only I will remain

And breathe

Don't know if *anyone* has been looking for me or anything, but I apologize for, again, going under the radar for the past week or so. It's always like this, I let excessive worrying over stuff that hasn't come to pass yet, future things to do and responsibilities that I should be getting into work swallow me for days on end, then...

Mm. Yeah.

But seriously? It... irritates me to no end that I cannot follow Poly as actively as I did. Yes, yes, work, priorities, monies, etc, etc. But Fairy Godmother, I do not want to grow up.

The state of Karen's reading:

1. Charmed Life - about a fourth of the way into it. Cat = ♥
2. Shadow of the Moon, A Sea of Shadows (a Twelve Kingdoms novel) = Chapter 20

... um, that's it. I get easily distracted, and work is my life's biggest distraction right now. Ahahah, I have no system in life, plz to be giving me organizational skills, stat!

*HUGS* to everyone

in the flist!

EDIT: needs moar blink xD

I'm pretty much made of phail right now lj-wise, rp-wise, keeping-in-touch-wise and... everything else-wise, but I hope you guys are all doing well. I read your entries! Promise! At work! I just don't reply, but I think of you all! Constantly! Until work pushes you guys off my mind again, ugh.

And I haven't forgotten about this. I shall get started this weekend.

Wait... sleepover at a friends' house this weekend ;__; Aaaaaah screw that, I'll still do it!
innocentlyjaded: (Default)
Sorta.

Ahah. I blame my boots. The inside is lined with some sort of fleece-type cloth, and I guess that's what's making me static-y. I could hear and feel the crack of electricity every time I reached for the metal/steel bar of our office door xD Time to get new shoes then~ When they pay me

And right now, my reading list looks like this:

1. Charmed Life by DWJ (the first Chrestomanci book)
2. The Color of Magic by Pratchett (the first Discworld book)
3. Storm Front by Jim Butcher (the first Dresden book)

With Nightlife by Rob Thurman coming up next *eyes Pelly and Pixy* ¬___¬ Only I keep changing my mind as to which book to continue on next 0__o

Aheh. Right.

I've been in [livejournal.com profile] polychromatic for one year now ^^ ♥ I've never met a more fun bunch of people to RP with. Thank you, guys, for making my first multi-fandom RP experience such a fun one.

I am happy, just... not right now. Abuh. Ruxi's Penguin drabble proposition had me writing something about Elaine, Gaudium and waddling, but it tapered off...

Ugh

And, um, Elaine's tags will be delayed until later. Have to go somewhere and get frigging drunk ^^

HAPPY BIRTHDAY YUKEH!!!
♥ ♥ ♥

(Ignore, ignore the fact that it's less than two hours to go before the day is over. I hope you had a blast!)

Iron Man (with [livejournal.com profile] lethologica and [livejournal.com profile] allslashedout was l;kajs;dlfkja;lsdfjadf awesome ^^ But we didn't stay up until the end of the credits, and missed something awesome ;___; (thanks, [livejournal.com profile] ksolaris for telling though). Will definitely watch it again, if just for that xD Also, Forbidden Kingdom, because Jackie Chan and Jet Li in the same movie is a once-in-a-lifetime deal.

Aaaaand bought another silver ring (my third one, but the first one is... lost. somewhere around the house ;__; ) and a wee pot of Body Shop lip gloss dot no. 5. Labor Day vacation is good ^^
innocentlyjaded: (and i start)
(Still at work. Encoding stuff to upload to the company website. Been at it my whole first week here. Its... tiring to encode, gadzooks.)

Pelly's done it, A.R. too. My turn?

Go and give me a word for each letter of the alphabet. I shall write something for each and every letter. No replications please? ... or heck, why not? GO WILD. SUGGEST WORDS, DOUBLE THEM? IT'S OKAY! >D [livejournal.com profile] lethologica did call me out on my masochistic streak Only that the thing written will be... anything, anything at all. Do as many as you like.

I'll never get used to office clothing )
innocentlyjaded: (ink? tear? blood? splotch)
I know no-one's really leaving me (...?), but I still feel so slow and so left behind. Pooooooooly. Stupid time zone difference ;___;

LORE! ALKJSDF;LKADF, JUUNI KOKKI NOVELS. I'M READING SHADOW OF THE MOON, A SEA OF SHADOWS AT THE OFFICE RIGHT NOW! SO GOOOOOOOD! ^_____^ CAN'T WAIT TO READ THE REST OF IT. (No worries, still reading Storm Front, Brad ^^)

This melancholy right now might have something to do with the fact that I only had 2 and a half hours of sleep before I went to work. But I still got things done ^^ Aheh.

NEW MUSIC.

SUGGEST IT TO ME.

The problem with me is that I listen to the same songs ad infinitum. I remember a time when the only song on my media player was L'arc's "Forbidden Lover" and I listened to it for a week. On loop. Over and over.

So sites like Musicovery really are a big help to me. Oh, and Poly too. Poly has influenced most of my music listening preferences recently. Hee.

So, f-list, hit me with your suggestions for people/bands to listen to *looks at A.R.* xD Right now I'm giving Tom Waits, Rufus Wainwright and Leonard Cohen a spin. I plan to listen to them at work.

*ping*!

I *might* start work on Wednesday. Or Thursday, depending on when the results of the medical exam will reach my employers. What the heck, I basically agreed to go to work the day after they receive the results. Eager, yus? Don't know if I can access the 'net over there, but even if, I think they'll be a bit stricter on access. More ninja-ing skills for continued Poly enjoyment needed, yus~ Big-time publishing company = workworkwork.

My position is Ad Writer. I shall be going in there half-blind. I hope things go well. I want them to go well. All those shiny Apple computers around me :3

AR! A Jareth and Sarah FST!

~

And I am happy. I finished, I actually finished reading a book! See the tears of joy running down my cheeks! xD (Only because I haven't finished reading a book in a very long time. This is a small victory for meeee ^^)

I read books. And comics. Really! )

Next on the reading list: The Dresden Files books!

I worried my head yesterday over something that was nonexistent, wtf. That's why I'm pretty much bouncy tonight, aheh ^___^

Sooooo.

Going to the City, getting prerequisites for job, riiight?

Was able to get up bright and early (6am, despite going to bed at 3am), ate breakfast, took a bath, got underthings on.

... aaaaaaaaaaaand promptly went back to sleep. 0____o WHAAAAAAT?!

Woke up again about an hour ago.

.______. Good grief. I don't want to spout out the Tomorrow is another day tune, but Tomorrow. To be done.

*shuffles off for coffee on another hot day*

P.S. Decaf coffee (;__;) + Honey (^__^) = Ooookay.
innocentlyjaded: (Default)
It's called effort, yo .___. And you seem to get it at the most inopportune moments and times. Ergh. I wonder how long the new job will be willing to wait for me to submit my prerequisites for employment? >D Yeah, Caru, I got the job. Just going to take the medical exam and wait for the results of that.

Moar commenting. Me. Yes. Go.

Currently reading "The Dream-Maker's Magic" by Sharon Shinn. YA. I haven't read any YA in some time (though I still have Jessie's Weetzie Bat book/s). deadlyImpulse buy while walking back from a small planning meeting with Tin, Kristel, Mia and Bhex. 50 pages in, and so far so good. I've already read her "Archangel" novel (sci-fi/fantasy), so I know it was going to be a good read, at least. There's Carey's "God Save the Queen" up next, followed by Butcher's Dresden Files.

So many books, so much lost time... Non-recoverable, sadly. Bzuh.

Marching off to the City to get other job prerequisites. Hopefully I'll start going to work next week? Ad writer for the Vibal Group of Companies.  So a few hours' sleep for me now.  Shall reply to replies when I come back?  Thank you, lifesavers, lovelies and inspirations, all~ ^^

I'm secretly scared silly again~

This entry is brought to you by my lazy butt refusing to get off the seat because of the heat xP  And I've been making more written entries on my physical journal more.  Something that I know I should be glad for, but when I see my lj... *sighs*
innocentlyjaded: (Default)
  • Final interview for prospective new job in 7 hours' time.  Still not asleep.  The beginnings of a migraine are imminent.
  • Summer in this country is too effin' hot.
  • Decided that I'll be applying Maj. Motoko Kusanagi from Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex next.  If Léon's Mathilda doesn't make her presence known again in my head.
  • I watch CNN too much.
  • I hope the plot thing gets approval.  But first... I have to show it to the mods at Poly.  Aheh.
  • ... I've not been writing much for the past... months.  Flit, flitter... flop
innocentlyjaded: (BK201)
You know, one of those big, city-wide plot ideas of doom! ^^ Well, let's see if it works first, then I can suggest it?

As ganked from The Neverending Story and Rayearth )

So, basically... )

Well, those are the things I've thought of so far. Reminder: Do not type out a plot proposition at 1:30am if you're dead tired ;__; Poly people, please critique? Suggest? Ask? Is it plausible? More importantly, has it been done before already? Comment!
innocentlyjaded: (transparency)
... but I want to ask.

How are you all doing?

Me? Things are looking up. I owe LJ-land entries and updates. Soon, soon. Reading the restored edition of Sylvia Plath's "Ariel". One of my favorite bookstores here had a sale this weekend. Found a copy of Edmund Spenser's "The Faerie Queen" and Anthony Bourdain's "No Reservations". Natsuo Kirino's "Grotesque" also looked tempting, but I bought "Ariel". Should have bought all of them. Will return before this week ends to retrieve xD (... but Naomi Novik's "Temeraire" series beckons as well 0__o)

So many books, so little money xD nevermind that I have yet a mountain of books to read through here

But for now? Sleep.

Who, if I cried out, would hear me among the angels'
hierarchies? and even if one of them suddenly
pressed me against his heart, I would perish
in the embrace of his stronger existence.
For beauty is nothing but the beginning of terror
which we are barely able to endure and are awed
because it serenely disdains to annihilate us.

from the first elegy of The Duino Elegies.

Aaaand...

Child in Red

Sometimes she walks through the village in her
little red dress
all absorbed in restraining herself,
and yet, despite herself, she seems to move
according to the rhythm of her life to come.

She runs a bit, hesitates, stops,
half-turns around...
and, all while dreaming, shakes her head
for or against.

Then she dances a few steps
that she invents and forgets,
no doubt finding out that life
moves on too fast.

It's not so much that she steps out
of the small body enclosing her,
but that all she carries in herself
frolics and ferments.

It's this dress that she'll remember
later in a sweet surrender;
when her whole life is full of risks,
the little red dress will always seem right.

innocentlyjaded: (moi?)
That birthday test got me to remembering something that [livejournal.com profile] lethologica said, that I was actually born on the cusp of Leo and Virgo. So I looked up what that exactly means and found this long description.

Long text is looooooong. But... it's a pretty accurate description of yours truly. )

... well?
