blank mask

Pardon the picture quality, but pretty nifty huh? It's an undecorated paper-maché harlequin mask. Monette gave it to me, the lone surplus from their company Halloween party (they gave the masks to those who didn't have plans of going in costume and asked them to decorate it themselves. i'll ask her for the pictures next time). Asked for me to embellish it and show it to her.

I dunno. I think the only way I could do justice to this is in gold, silver and/or glitter. Still looking online for ideas though. Any thoughts? Aiming for a sun/moon theme, but just might end up with the harlequin diamonds fall back for masks like these.

After my Within Temptation phase (I wasn't able to share that here, gah, go and listen to their latest album, The Heart of Everything. It's good. Some notches over Evanescence IMHO. I recommend the tracks "Frozen", "The Heart of Everything", "Our Solemn Hour", and "The Truth Beneath the Rose"), I'm now in my Mistula phase. They've just released a new video over in Channel V's AMP site. I've been hooked on "Dolorosa" ever since they released it, and they've just reminded me on how awesome their "Baptized" track is too. Go watch and listen as well.

things i did. and a thing you must do.

† left for Baguio on the morning of Black Saturday. went back to Manila on the afternoon of Easter Sunday. didn't get to enjoy it at all (well, not really. i reckon the cool air was worth the trip alone). brought home at least 2 kilos of strawberries (all sitting in the ref, since our blender's broken. no strawberry shakes for me -_-;). would've loved to go by the Baguio Botanical Gardens (freefall memories), but companions not very eager to go out stopped me from doing so. tch. will try to go there solo or with friends next time. that or we'll push to Sagada.

† bought 3 books again, courtesy of Leah&Jay on ebay.ph. The Witching Hour by Anne Rice (been looking for this book for ages, On The Road by Jack Kerouac (i finally get to read it, Sumire's of-the-moment, favorite book) and Kimono: Fashioning Culture by Liza Dalby (easily the steal of the pack ^_^). all for just 565 bucks ^_^ love the both of them.

now, for that something you have to do:

† go to Mistula. click on II (Music). Click on the first name, Nuestra Señora Dolorosa. listen to it streaming or (better yet) download it. listen. tell me what you think. while you're there, listen to the three other songs (just as good) and browse the site. Icons of worship they truly are. Dolorosa is on repeat on my Winamp right now.
