(forgive the crappy picture quality)

I was able to skip our annual Christmas reunion (for the first time! ^___^) and spend some alone time in the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf with my favorite Café Caramel, a slice of Blueberry Cheesecake and read my sister's Christmas present to me:

I was really surprised. And ashamed, because I didn't get her anything T__T. I mean, okay, I'm a bum and she has a job, but that doesn't mean I couldn't buy her anything...

So I scourged Gateway for a nice blouse to give her, but given that I'm pretty much clueless on the specifics of what she likes (when I buy something for someone I'd rather know what she wants exactly than second guess myself), I just ended up coming and going from every store in there. I also tried to look for an outfit to wear for the wedding on Saturday, but that too went to waste.

Ended up - where else? - at Fully Booked where I finally texted my sister if she wanted Nigella's or Giada's cookbook. Ended up buying Nigella Lawson's How To Eat.

Saw & grabbed the third issue of Story Philippines. [livejournal.com profile] lethologica (who I was texting to that day) though that they went under. Well, the website's back up.

When I was ready to check out my purchases I paused to look at their journal pile. Lo and behold, I saw a small Moleskine notebook there. Whoa. I immediately grabbed it and asked the guy behind the information section if there were other Moleskine notebooks. He pointed me to the journal rack beside me. On top of the rack were a bunch of black tomes along with the limited edition red Moleskine 2007 diary. Wai! I looked for a 13x21cm Lined notebook, but the only lined ones were the small ones. The medium ones were for watercolour, reporter's notebook and graphed. With the small notebook in hand I roamed the store once again, just thinking about the purchase. When I reached the counter I returned the small one and grabbed the medium plain version.

I am now the proud owner of a Moleskine journal. My sister wanted to look at it so I was forced to tear the plastic open T___T. It is a thing of beauty, the cream-coloured pages inside just waiting eagerly to be written on. It inspires one to write, which is a very good thing for me. I suspect this will be the start of many more purchases of said notebook, that which I am happily anticipating. I'm actually contemplating if I should buy another one now because I have this feeling I'll fill up my first Moleskine pretty quickly.

There are moleskins in Manila? Kewl! How muchies?

An officemate gave me one last February, as pasalubong after her vacation in Paris. I still haven't used it; it's too precious! I don't know what to do with it. I keep it at my desk drawer at work though, and touch the pages sometimes. It's so purty! Might actually give using it a shot now that you told me it's available locally.

Hope you don't mind, but I'm sharing this entry's link with her, so she can check out that store. I mean, it's not f-locked, so I do hope you don't kill me ^_^;;

I saw mine in Fully Booked Gateway. It's only a handful, but I don't think it gets noticed much. But still...

eheh, i understand the thing about not using it right away ^___^ i feel the same way about a couple of my notebooks. of course, they're all used up now... T___T

ah, i don't mind the sharing ^__^ spread the moleskine love! not killing you at all ^___^

the small ones go for 699. the one i brought is 999 (sana sinara na lang sa 1000 di ba? >_<). i wasn't able to check the price on the red moleskine diary

Ditto with the presents from siblings. I was surprised that (1) my oniisan went home for Christmas (with the girlfriend of course) and (2) they gave me presents ~_~ I didn't get them any. I didn't even get my mom or my otouto any gift.

Congratulations on the purchases! Like I said yesterday, good buys! (Btw, nakita mo pa ba yung Absolute Sandman sa Fullybooked?)

I also got a book I've been longing for as a present from the office Kris Kringle -- Douglas Adams' Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy Omnibus! Last na daw yun sa A Different Bookstore at sa Eastwood branch na lang siya meron kasi naghanap din si touno sa ibang ADB pero wala daw eh. Hehe, luck is with me this season ^___^ That's another book off my Shelfari wishlist and another addition to my bookshelf!

Holidays ain't so bad afterall =P

I hate you! I saw a whole bunch of Moleskines last night in Fully Booked Power Plant and I had to drag myself out of the store hence I waste 699 for a small, portable, pretty, lovable notebook.

I might buy one sooner or later. It might actually force me to write more.

Merry Christmas :)

It is not a waste! If it will force you to write more, then it's actually the best investment ^___^

Merry Christmas too *huggles*
