flying the nest
Jan. 27th, 2008 08:24 pm(I'll write about my friend's baby shower in my next entry.)
My sister left earlier in the morning for her flight to Singapore. She'll be staying there for 6 months for an internship for the Asia Europe Foundation in their Public Affairs section.
I have no doubt she'll impress her employers there. She's very driven and is very good at what she does. And I know she'll enjoy herself too. She's been to the U.S. on her own for two months, but she had our relatives to check up on her there. Now, she'll be on her own. But then again, she's a pretty independent person.
I'm proud of her and everything that she's done for herself and her career. I can totally see her working for the United Nations in the future (she took up International Studies in college). Most of the time, I consider her being the elder sister, the more emotionally mature and responsible one.
First night alone in our parents' bedroom that we usually share. She'd be busy typing away on her laptop while I use the desktop computer. After some t.v. I'd usually be the one to turn in early and leave her still typing away.
It's just six months.
It's just six months.
