But first...
Went to UST yesterday with
team7, [Unknown site tag] and Garro (of komiks.ph to talk to Prof. Lito Zulueta of the Varsitarian. Mia and Garro went wild in Joli's, while I bought a brush pen. Thanks to Mia (whose handwriting is amazing in itself), I dug up the Speedball guide I bought with
lethologica some months ago and started on pointed brush calligraphy. Are there any calligraphy classes here in the metro?
Oh, before we went to Sir Lito's office I spied a copy of Dapitan Prose in one of the shelves. Gyaaah, Dapitan Prose! So before we left I asked him if I could buy one. He got a copy from his computer desk and gave one to me~! In the first place, I didn't know if it should be free or not, but I was willing to buy one, really.
Was pleased to see a contribution from Nat there. I don't know if she posted that one in the mailing list, but I'll be looking forward to reading it. Saw that Chuck
morethanfiction has a story in it too! My eyes are too blind then that I did not know you were included in the 2001-2005 Ustetika Literary Folio?!?! SOMEONE STAB ME NOW PLEASE! Way belated congratulations! Gah, now I must find a copy of that as well. I'm going to review Dapitan Prose and Dapitan Poetry for the RoD blog. Going to be my first time in doing so. I'll probably bomb (... maybe) but better start something than do absolutely nothing at all).
I miss UST ^__^ I wasn't able to go to the registrar's office and ask if I can be re-admitted (... sounds odd), but I will go back soon-ish. Promised people I will... seriously, this time.

Now, to address the topic in the subject field on top.
The New World's Alliance's week-long convention will be starting on Monday, July 9 and will be up until Sunday, July 15 in Rockwell Mall, Makati. Of course, RoD will be there. I will be manning the RoD booth the whole day on Monday. If any of you guys want to drop by, please do. Join RoD! Entrance to the convention floor is free, don't worry..
On Saturday and Sunday, RoD will be hosting some panel discussions about topics like fanfictions and fandoms and books and comic books being turned to movies. I'm going to help co-present the second topic along with another one, Works of the Fantastic in Other Languages and Cultures (or historical fantasy); Reading Lists For Fantasy & Sci Fi.
I know there are a lot of readers in my flist, so I turn to you guys for help. Mm, hit me with the books you've read or want to read (sci-fi and fantasy, of course). Or post your own reading list. You will be credited on the panel. Or basically, reply with any ideas that come into your head with regards to sci-fi and fantasy. I know there are a lot of sub-genres under those two, but I only know so little, so any help will be very much appreciated. Point me to websites or online papers and stuff. I'll be asking help from my fellow RoD-ers too, of course.
eheh. figures that I start being serious about this barely a week off before the talks. bah.

- Chel, congratulations! Good grief, the known world must be in for a shock, you're all being parents now...
- Hannah, I'll probably read all your entries this weekend and post a mega-reply about the whole thing.
- My thoughts are with you, Wowie. Hope the second opinion doesn't show anything serious too.
