paranoidbitch made me a blog on Pitas as a present for my 19th birthday back in 2002. She asked me what handle/username I would like to use. I don't remember if I thought long and hard about it or if it just popped out of the blue, but I told her that I wanted innocentlyjaded.

I wanted it because... well, I liked how those two almost-opposite words fit together as one. The thought of being seemingly innocent but really knowledgeable about the world appealed to me. It still does. Two contradictions in one word. Sort of like who I am.

Marie Antoinette has been on my mind almost 24/7. It's just... aaaargh! I just love it to bits. Circumstances might be different back then, but when it all started, Marie-Antoinette was just a teenager when she married Louis Auguste. Do 19-year old girls stop being teenagers once they ascend to the French throne?
